Most legal briefs see a first qualified shortlist within a fortnight. Senior, niche or partner-track briefs may take longer, and we tell you upfront if so.

The brief, properly

A 30-45 minute briefing call. Practice area, qualification level, billing expectation, salary band, partnership trajectory. We confirm in writing.

We approach our network and active candidates, vet the qualifications, references and SRA standing, and send a tight, ranked shortlist with notes.

Offer and onboarding

We coordinate the offer, manage counter-offer pressure, line up the start date and check in on day 7, 30 and 90.

How quickly will I see a shortlist?
Most legal briefs see a first qualified shortlist within 5-10 working days. Senior, partner-track or niche-practice briefs may take longer, and we will tell you upfront so you can plan.
Do you handle SRA-compliance vetting?
Yes. Right-to-work, SRA standing, qualifications and references are all verified before any candidate reaches your shortlist. For COFA / COLP roles we evidence the relevant standing in writing.
Are your fees percentage-based?
Yes. We work on a percentage of first-year base salary, agreed in writing before any candidate is introduced. Rates depend on qualification level and practice area.
What does the replacement guarantee cover?
If a placed hire leaves or is dismissed within the agreed period, we re-run the search free of charge. The window is usually 8-12 weeks for most roles, longer for senior hires.
Can you handle confidential searches?
Yes. For replacement-of-incumbent or pre-announce hires we run blind shortlists, withhold firm identity until shortlist stage, and use generic JDs in initial approaches.
Do you cover in-house legal hires?
Yes. We place in-house counsel, commercial lawyers, compliance officers and company secretaries for UK businesses, alongside our private-practice work.
