Legal recruitment, run with care for the practices that need it.

Why we exist

Legal recruitment is its own discipline. The qualification level matters. The practice culture matters. The SRA standing matters. Generalist agencies miss the detail and waste your time. Hynon Hire was set up to do legal recruitment as a legal sector deserves: with care, with detail, and with the regulator in mind.

We are a UK legal recruitment partner. Our desk runs on one belief: a hire only counts if it stays in seat at six months and beats the firm's billing expectation. That outcome starts with the brief, not the CV pile.

What we do, plainly

We place permanent staff for UK law firms, in-house teams and legal support functions. Solicitors, paralegals, legal cashiers, conveyancers, family and commercial lawyers, trainees, practice managers. From NQ to senior associate, salaried partner and beyond.

The practice areas we recruit into:

  • Solicitors: NQs through senior associates, salaried partners
  • Paralegals: litigation, conveyancing, family, commercial
  • Legal cashiers and accounts: SRA-compliant cashiers
  • Legal secretaries: audio, dictation and case-management
  • Conveyancing: licensed conveyancers and assistants, residential and commercial
  • Family law: solicitors, paralegals, Resolution-trained specialists
  • Commercial law: corporate, M&A, commercial contracts
  • Litigation: civil and commercial, contentious matters
  • Trainee solicitors: training contracts and SQE-route
  • Practice managers: COFA, COLP, HR and finance leads

Who we work for

Our clients range from high-street law firms across the UK to mid-market commercial practices, in-house legal teams of mid and large enterprises, and ABS-authorised legal businesses. Mostly small to mid-market, with managing partners or in-house heads of legal who want to spend less time on recruitment and more on running the practice.

How we vet candidates

  • Right-to-work verification
  • SRA standing check (where role calls for it)
  • Qualification verification: SRA, CILEX, ILSPA, AAT
  • Reference contact, current and previous firm where possible
  • A structured competency conversation, scenario-tested for senior roles
  • Salary expectations, notice period, motivation captured in writing

The aim is simple. Nothing reaches your shortlist that we have not stood behind.

How we think about a placement

A successful legal placement is not a CV submission or a fee invoice. It is the moment the new associate is in seat, billing target met, fitting the practice culture, six months in. That is the only outcome we measure ourselves against, and the only one that should matter to you.

Our values, the short version

  • Take the brief seriously. A 30-45 minute call up front saves you a fortnight on the back end.
  • Tell the truth. If the salary is below market for that practice area, we say so. If a candidate is not a strong fit, we will not pretend.
  • One consultant per firm. One named consultant takes the brief, vets the candidates, runs the offer, follows up at day 7, 30 and 90. Holiday cover briefed properly so nothing slips.
  • Stand behind the work. Free replacement period on every permanent placement. No small print.
  • Respect the SRA detail. Right-to-work, standing, qualifications and references all checked before introduction.
